From time to time, I like to take a break from cooking. If that’s the case, we like to eat something I can’t really make at home. In this case, it’s a grilled hamburger. Much to my dismay, due to lack of outdoor space, we do not have a grill and therefore love to get great char-grilled hamburgers out.
Last night, Joel and I headed to our local burger joint, Wall Street Burger Shoppe for two Real Deals — our favorite thing on the menu. Each Real Deal includes two tasty char-grilled burgers, fries (or onion rings) and a can of soda.
The Shoppe’s burgers are especially tasty because they are cooked to medium unless otherwise specified. The burgers are cooked to order, then topped with Shoppe sauce (a mayo ketchup mix), American cheese (sometimes you just have to) as well as my favorite addition — shredded lettuce. The bun is exactly right for the type and size of burger; just soft and small enough for the burger to poke out on all sides.
The Shoppe is also good for after work happy hour as the upstairs portion is a bar that serves a more extensive menu. Definitely worth stopping by!
