Friday night Joel and I attended an art show by M. Dreeland held at Mansion in NYC. We arrived a bit later than the opening door of 10PM and were impressed to see what a large crowd Mike’s work draws. Mike’s art has a big following and I could see why. I was particularly drawn to his first piece from the Revolver series titled “Revolver”.
After Mike’s show, we headed to another bar, The Dove. Although located in the vecinaty of frat-like NYU bars, it was far from that type of bar. The decor was just my style- a mix between a speakeasy and a Victorian parlor with the plush velvet wall coverings, dark lighting, leather banquettes and gold accents. They have a great drink menu with signature cocktails as well as a bar snack menu which I did not get to sample. The bartenders were attentive and poured well. All-in-all a great place to stop by if you’re in the West Village.
