Whenever I take a trip home to Roswell, GA, I make a stop at a local favorite — The Fickle Pickle. What once was an old home, is now a delicious restaurant.
The Fickle Pickle boasts not only amazing sandwiches such as the Fried Green Tomato or the Horseradish Beef, but delectable entrees such as the classic Southern dish Shrimp and Grits, which Joel tried. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and was very much so complimented by the smooth, creamy grits and peppers. It was a cheesy, delicate take on this great combo.
Another favorite at the Fickle Pickle are the Fried Dill Pickles. It may sound like a strange concoction, but it is far from that — the pickles are deep fried in a cornmeal based batter which gives them a rich, crunchy crust that never gets soggy. The combination of the sour dill pickles with the light and salty crust make for the best fried treat you’ll ever try. I won’t doubt it if these catch on in the rest of the country!
The Fickle Pickle is a definite stop of mine with every visit to Roswell and I highly recommend it be a stop of yours!
