Christmas in Atlanta (Jew’s 2nd Xmas) 2008

For the second year in a row, Sharon and I visited her family for Christmas. We had such a nice time seeing everyone and overindulging on some amazing food! We arrived late Tuesday night, so went to bed immediately — there was lots to do Wednesday before Christmas eve.

When we got up Santa Sharon went to work wrapping up a storm. Cooking then commenced all day long (with a new fav of mine — Chipotle meatballs!) and by the end of the day the tree looked well stocked — Santa had come! Everyone received great gifts and it was nice sitting around smiling and chatting by the fire Christmas morning.

2 of the largest boxes yielded a new Playstation 3 and Rock Band 2 with 2 guitars and full drum pads. Bands were quickly formed as people stopped by the Martin household that night. After many rounds of singing and playing along with such classics as Jethro Tull’s Aqualung and Blink 182’s Dammit, Rock Band yielded to the annual game of Taboo. My team managed to win both games, despite healthy doses of attempted cheating.

The weekend was spent visiting The World of Coke, The High Museum, Richard Blais’ Flip Burger Boutique as well as hanging out and watching movies. I really enjoyed the new-to-DVD Coen Brothers’ movie Burn After Reading. All-in-all a great visit, I can’t wait to do it again next year!

  1. Aw, Sophie looks so cute! Sounds like you had a blast. I’m sorry I’m behind on the blog, but I’ll catch up soon.
