A favorite amongst my parents, we made our way over to Auberge du Soleil in Napa Valley to scout it out for the wedding. Being that food is such an important part in our decision making process, we decided to try their Michelin rated restaurant. Needless to say, we were impressed by the menu which consisted of entrees such as pillow-light Potato Gnocchi with Mushrooms and Pea Shoots, refreshingly tangy Meyer Lemon Risotto and thick, warm Chestnut Soup.
Obviously it was hard to choose, but we selected all of the above listed meals along with the melt-in-your-mouth Tuna Tartare, as well a Short Rib ‘Sandwich’ with a Horseradish Cream and house-made Potato Chips. The Short Rib ‘Sandwich’ was very well done — perfectly braised, so it pulled apart with the simple touch of my fork and topped with just enough of the Horseradish Cream to give it that spicy bite.
After indulging in the food, my mother and I enjoyed (what else) champagne! It was the perfect place to celebrate a fantastic weekend and the making of a huge decision.
