After several years and a lot of political red-tape, The NYC High Line is open! I was lucky enough to take time out of work for another ‘inspiration trip’, to visit the park. In my humble opinion, the park was very well done. The designers did a fantastic job of building around the pre-existing components such as actual railroad tracks.
One of my favorite parts were the lounge chairs that had been built to roll along old railroad tracks. The gardens running along the park were well maintained and perfect for the setting. There was a beautiful installation of colorful glass windows along with a great view of the newly opened, retro feeling Standard Hotel.
The High Line is beautifully designed and yet another amazing, green outdoor sanctuary in the concrete jungle that is NYC. It is very much so worth a visit and I look forward for the opening of the continuation of the park uptown
