This week I got to fly up to Boston for some Usability Testing via work — a quick, mid-week visit. I hadn’t been up to Boston in a while, so I was happy to visit, even if briefly. After flying out of the excellent Marine Air Terminal (Delta Shuttle) at LaGuardia, the flight lasted only 45 minutes. Upon arrival we checked into our hotel for the next 2 nights: The Bostonian Millennium Hotel. Nice and modern, the place was choice in the North End part of town.
Food for the week was great after work — the first night the larger group of us went to Todd English’s Kingfish Hall in Faneuil Hall. We dined on an assortment of appetizers from Thai Mussels to an excellent, savory Tuna Tartare. For my meal I enjoyed the Snapper with White Miso Broth, Edamame Beans, Shitake Mushroom, Baby Bok Choy & Toasted Sesame Seeds. The textures and flavors melded together well with a crunch from the bok choy.
I was able to make some time and see my longtime friend Adrian on Wednesday night at a new-ish establishment in Cambridge, across the water — Hungry Mother. Everything we tried was outstanding! The No. 43 mixed drink was sweet and perfect. The small bites and appetizers were fantastic while my meal took the cake. (Full review to follow)
I headed home Thursday afternoon. This trip helped remind me how much I love — and miss — New England. Hope to go back soon!
