Vegas, Baby! (Part 1)

Vegas, baby! I joined Sharon this weekend on a business trip to Las Vegas. We were graciously put up in the new Palazzo hotel — a really impressive place with huge rooms for every guest. Each one is a suite! After check-in, we joined all of Sharon’s co-workers for a quick bite at Sushi Samba in the hotel before heading to Global Shop. The massive convention hall housed hundreds of visual vendors, graphics people and photo booths. It was fun to explore!

Wandering outside of the convention, we ended up on the canals of Italy — or at least a funny recreation. There were gondola rides, for which we received tickets from The Palazzo when we checked in. On the boats we went! It was a lot of fun, we even saw some married couples floating down the water.

We ended the night enjoying the ambiance of LAVO, a restaurant turned nightclub after hours. Nice atmosphere to lounge in while Sharon sipped champagne.

An early start on Friday, we met up with the team at Caesar’s Palace and the forum shops. A huge mall-like structure, I wandered while Sharon worked. There were lots of fake sculptures everywhere amongst the shopping — including a huge wooden Trojan Horse! First Italy, now Greece.

We continued down the strip passing through casinos, and ended up in the Bellagio. The lobby was beautiful and littered with work from Dale Chihuly. Sharon was then released from her work duties and we wandered outside to enjoy the beautiful Las Vegas weather.
